Beads, Beads, Beads!

Holy crow.  Yesterday I had the bright idea to sort through all my stuff and re-organize it in a more user-friendly way.  HA!  What a MESS!!!  Joanna and I went out the other day and got some new things...not a TON, but we picked through a big ol' mess of beads for a good hour... I completely zoned out, so poor Joanna was starving to death by the time I finished...but anyway.

So I haul everything to the dining room table and start sorting.  First of all, I remove all the plastic beads.  I just don't use them.  I look back to the very first few things I made and I'm like OH MY GOSH no way.  Hideous.  My husbands Auntie Jean ordered a bracelet from me at the very beginning of this endeavor.  She needed a new clasp on it because I bought some magnet closures that didn't stay closed very well (live and learn!)

When I got it in the mail I just couldn't believe someone actually paid for that.  So I completely redid it.  I could NOT send that back to her! So I replaced all the plastic beads with glass and crystals and sent it back... I think she liked the newer version!

I really can't believe how much fun it is to make jewelry.  I'm also not sure why it took me so long to get into this....I LOVE jewelry.  Always have.  I had to wait til I was 12 to get my ears pierced and I nearly DIED! And I always liked the real stuff.  Yup.  I've ALWAYS been high maintenance!  : )

Anyway.  So I got probably 80% of it done, but the 20% on the table is still a hot mess, so I need to go put the rest where it belongs....

And yes, Joanna, I see beads when I close my eyes.....even when I simply blink. Ug.

New Look and Giveaway!!

So...what do you think of the new design??  I LOVE it!  HUGE thanks and props to Margaret at W.A.I.S.T.ed Space Designs (her button is on the sidebar).  She also revamped my facebook page for Kerri's Kreations.

Speaking of Kerri's Kreations, I'm having a giveaway this month!  For every $25.00 you spend, you will get one entry in a drawing for $25.00 of free jewelry!  So if you spend $50.00, you'll get your name entered twice, and so on.  The drawing will be held on December 18, so make your purchases by December 17!  I'm not sure if I will be able to get you the free stuff by Christmas, especially if it's something you want me to custom make.  Which I would be glad to do!

So stop on by, take a look at my new layout, and check out the order form!

Thanks SO much for supporting my business, and for helping to donate to the Great Lakes Chapter of the MGFA.  Ten percent of everything I make goes to them.

Have a blessed week!

Craft Show: Epic Fail

My booth.  Over 300 items.  Hand made

Doug made these gorgeous display boards for me!
Some of my bracelets...which I happen to LOVE.

Another beautiful board to display earrings
Some of my Pandora-style jewelry

Earring racks

Pendant dispalys (there were two)
The biggest reason I was there....to spread awareness about MG
So even though we lost money, I met some nice people and talked to a lot of people about MG.  So that's was good.  I was disappointed that we didn't sell much, but it did mean a lot to talk to people about MG.

First Craft Show

Okay, so it's not until November, but I'm pretty excited about it.  Doug and I have done craft shows before, and it wasn't terribly successful for the amount of work we had to do.  Doug makes beautiful items out of wood.  He makes picture frames, bookshelves, gorgeous jewelry boxes, and even wooden riding horses for kids.  The problem we encountered was that people want something for nothing.  They didn't want to spend $50.00 on a hand-made oak bookcase when they could get a "$20 dollar wood shelf at Wal-Mart."  Like that's wood.  More like wood pulp smashed together.

But anyway, this will be different because for one thing, it's jewelry, so it's small and lightweight and not much work to set up.  I'm excited and nervous, and just want to do well.  I'm going to have signs up about MG and MG Awareness, and of course, 10% of everything sold will go to the Great Lakes Chapter of the MGFA.

I'm hoping to have fun, spread awareness, make a little money, and be able to donate to the MGFA to help others.

Oh, and don't forget to comment on my 700th blog post if you want to win a bracelet of your choosing!

I'll keep you posted on the craft show...if you are local, it's going to be at Plainwell High School on November 19.  Now I need to get cracking on making some jewelry!

Kerri's Kreations!

Some of my latest work: Hair clips in purple and light blue.

This is a charm bracelet with the MG colors, and symbols. The snowflake is the symbol of MG because everyone who has MG is different. No two cases are exactly alike. This one also has the hope ribbon, a charm that says "inspire" and a cross.

Pretty in pink...or rose, or mauve...whatever you want to call it!
I would love you to stop by my facebook page and check out more of my stuff! Ten percent of everything sold will go to the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of America's Great Lakes Chapter.
Check it out Kerri's Kreations!

Love Changes Everything by Micah Berteau - A Book Review

If you're not familiar with the story of Hosea and Gomer in the Bible, it's really quite shocking.  Here's my brief synopsis...
