"Maybe God Didn't Have Time For Me"

Those are the words I heard out of my precious baby's mouth last night.  He prays at supper, usually, and he always prays that we stay healthy and grow strong, and usually something about Mommy never needing any more surgeries or ever having to go to the "hoss-ibal" (hospital) again. Precious.

He loves God so much and really has child like faith.  After he had prayed last night, he started eating, and then said he didn't feel good.  He looked really pale all of the sudden, and said his head really hurt. He was freaking me out because he's never had a headache like that.  Then he said his tummy hurt, so I asked him if he wanted to go upstairs and cuddle with Mommy.  He said yes.

So we get upstairs, and I'm carrying "the bowl"...yes, you know, that one....and he's going potty and says, "Mommy, I'm going to frow up.  I need the bowl."  I'm like, do it in the toilet!  So he did, and didn't even cry.  My big, brave boy.

But then we were back in my room, and he said, "Maybe God didn't have time, huh Mommy?"  And I said, what do you mean?  He says, "I said my prayers that we wouldn't get sick, but I did, so God must not have had time for me."

I about bawled.  I was like, Lord, you better give me the words...I just hugged him and said that wasn't true, and that God loved him very much...{still telling God to give me SOMETHING to give this kid!!}

Then I remember, of all things, a Curious George episode, in combination with something I shared on facebook (I'll post at the end).

I said to Jacob, "Well, look at it this way:  maybe you were GOING to get really, really sick, and so God helped you throw up to get rid of the bad germs inside." (On curious George, the Man in the Yellow Hat had a cold, and he had to sneeze to get the bad germs out...)

He said, "Oooohhhhh.....so He did help me!"  I was like, yup! {Thank you Lord!!}
What a lesson we can learn from our children.

I shared this on facebook yesterday....didn't have an author, so I don't know who originally wrote it.
Me: God, can I ask You a question?

God: Sure

Me: Promise You won't get mad ...

God: I promise

Me: Why did You let so much stuff happen to me today?

God: What do u mean?

Me: Well, I woke up late

God: Yes

Me: My car took forever to start

God: Okay

Me: at lunch they made my sandwich wrong & I had to wait

God: Huummm

Me: On the way home, my phone went DEAD, just as I picked up a call

God: All right

Me: And on top of it all off, when I got home ~I just wanted to watch my new tv & relax. BUT it wouldn't work!!! Nothing went right today! Why did You do that?

God: Let me see, the death angel was at your bed this morning & I had to send one of My Angels to battle him for your life. I let you sleep through that

Me (humbled): OH

GOD: I didn't let your car start because there was a drunk driver on your route that would have hit you if you were on the road.

Me: (ashamed)

God: The first person who made your sandwich today was sick & I didn't want you to catch what they have, I knew you couldn't afford to miss work.

Me (embarrassed):Okay

God: Your phone went dead bcuz the person that was calling was going to give false witness about what you said on that call, I didn't even let you talk to them so you would be covered.

Me (softly): I see God

God: Oh and that tv, it had a shortage that was going to throw out all of the power in your house tonight. I didn't think you wanted to be in the dark.
Me: I'm Sorry God
God: Don't be sorry, just learn to Trust Me.... in All things , the Good & the bad.
Me: I will trust You.
God: And don't doubt that My plan for your day is Always Better than your plan.

Me: I won't God. And let me just tell you God, Thank You for Everything today.

God: You're welcome child. It was just another day being your God and I Love looking after My Children...

Sometimes we all feel like God doesn't have time for us...but it took a special young man and his mom to remind us he ALWAYS has time for us. Love Ya!

Love Changes Everything by Micah Berteau - A Book Review

If you're not familiar with the story of Hosea and Gomer in the Bible, it's really quite shocking.  Here's my brief synopsis...
